What the five-wing designation establishes
It identifies the wing count of the illustrated layout. It does not by itself establish the bit diameter, cutter grade, body material, pressure rating or drilling-system qualification. Define these items in the selected specification where applicable.
Compare complete configurations
The five-wing arc-profile family is another existing configuration reference. For a different wing count, compare the six-wing arc-profile family. Check whether the face shape, cutter positions, gauge and flow paths also change, rather than attributing a difference in drilling performance to wing count alone.
