Spiral annular PDC design
The illustrated family uses PDC cutters around an open core passage. The crown and spiral body profile should be compared with the intended barrel, formation and flushing system.
Specify the drilling assembly
Identify the required hole diameter and core opening separately. Provide the barrel reference, thread drawing, rig capabilities, flushing method and a description of the ground. The cutter layout and operating settings need to suit that combination.
